BEIJING, June 12 (Xinhua) -- China's auditing authority said on Thursday it had so far found three cases of illegal use of quake relief fund, involving a combined sum of nearly 300,000 yuan (43,478.3 U.S. dollars).
The findings were published on the Website of the National Audit Office (NAO) as the first document about the auditing results of the huge relief fund for regions hit by a magnitude-8 earthquake a month ago.
Latest statistics showed the government disaster relief fund had reached 23.61 billion yuan as of Thursday noon, while domestic and foreign donations totaled 44.85 billion yuan in cash and goods.
