BEIJING, June 12 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese official on Thursday urged anti-graft officials nationwide to beef up supervision of quake relief funds and supplies and ensure they reach quake survivors.
He Guoqiang, the Communist Party of China (CPC)'s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) secretary -- the country's top anti-graft official -- also urged increased supervision of the implementation of the central government's policies to make sure they are carried out faithfully.
He, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks when meeting with model relief workers who helped the rescue work after the 8.0-magnitude quake struck the southwestern Sichuan Province one month ago.
He praised the officials in the supervision and discipline systems for their outstanding performance in the quake relief work and urged them to channel their concern about the quake victims into doing a better job in anti-corruption efforts.
