Vice president: China wishes to steadily increase trade with Yemen

SANAA, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday that China wished to work with Yemen to achieve steady growth of bilateral trade.

During a meeting with Yemeni Prime Minister Ali Muhammad al-Mujawar, Xi said China is ready to work with Yemen to continue improving the structure of bilateral trade by developing new growth spots.

He expressed the hope that the two countries should earnestly implement the construction projects to be built with Chinese aid in a bid to promote social and economic development of Yemen.

China will encourage and support Chinese companies to invest in Yemen and step up cooperation with Yemen in such fields as telecommunications, infrastructure development and fishing.

Mujawar thanked China for its help, saying Yemen will continue to improve its investment environment so as to continuously achieve rich results in the cooperation with Chinese enterprises.

Xi arrived here Tuesday for an official visit. He will conclude the visit later Wednesday.
