SHIJIAZHUANG, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Three judges were killed and another two were badly injured after a police vehicle they were traveling in crashed with a bus on Thursday evening, local authority said on Friday.

The accident occurred at around 8 p.m. when the judges from the Huanghua Municipal People's Court were driving a police car back to the downtown after dinner. The car then crashed into the bus, a traffic police official said.

Two judges died on the spot and one succumbed in hospital four hours later. The other two were receiving treatment in a local hospital, the official said.

An insider said the driver had been drinking alcohol. Legal medical experts examined the dead bodies on Friday morning and the cause of the accident was still under investigation.
