China's commercial minister leaves for WTO's ministerial conference

BEIJING, July 19 (Xinhua) -- China's Minister of Commerce Chen Deming left Beijing on Saturday for Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the World Trade Organization's small-scale ministerial conference.

Discussion will focus on agriculture, manufacture industry, service industry, trade rules, and intellectual property rights, said the Ministry of Commerce on its website.

Representatives from more than 30 countries including China, the U.S., India, and Brazil along with the European Union are expected to take part in the conference.

Vice commercial minister Yi Xiaozhun, vice agricultural minister Niu Dun, and officials from the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance will also participate in the conference.

The ministerial conference, summoned by the WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy, will start from July 21.
