China mobile phone users to send 18 bln messages during Spring

BEIJING, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- China's mobile phone users were expected to send more than 18 billion short messages during the Spring Festival holiday which would last a week until Jan. 31, telecom operators said on Monday.

Text message has in recent years become a popular way for people to exchange greetings during Spring Festival, a time for family reunion in China.
