NANNING, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Ambassador to China Nguyen Van Tho said here Thursday that he would work to advance the Vietnam-China all-round strategic partnership to a higher level.

The ambassador said in his meeting with Guo Shengkun, Communist Party chief of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region, in Nanning, capital of Guangxi.

Nguyen called for more efforts on cooperation between the two countries in energy, safety, agricultural processing, education and infrastructure construction.

He said the two country's trade volumes hit 3.12 billion U.S. dollars last year, up 31.4 percent year-on-year. Vietnam has been the largest trade partner of Guangxi for a succession of 10 years, compared with the other members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

He also said Vietnam would continue its support for the China-ASEAN Expo and the economic cooperation in the Pan-Beibu Bayarea.

Guo said the relationship between the two countries has entered a new era in recent years. Guangxi would intensify exchanges and cooperation with Vietnam and the other ASEAN countries in industries, traffic facilities construction, trade and investment facilitation and other areas.
