China donates $30,000 to Australia for bushfire fighting

BEIJING, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Red Cross Society of China offered emergency aid of 30,000 U.S. dollars in cash to the Australian Red Cross Friday to help with the aftermath of the severe bushfires which have hit the country this week.

According to the latest reports, the devastating fires, which began on Saturday, have killed 181 people and made 5,000 homeless.
