BEIJING, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- The weather in Beijing has cleared up early Thursday morning, just hours ahead of the grandiose military parade to mark the 60th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China.

Better visibility is to offer a clearer view of military aircraft fly-overs in the center of Beijing as scheduled.

The weather is to change from cloudy to sunny during the day, with temperatures ranging from 13 to 24 degrees celsius, according to weather forecast.

The Chinese capital was shrouded in fog all day on Wednesday, but a drizzle triggered by a cold current helped clear the sky early Thursday.

The People's Liberation Army air force said last Tuesday it was taking steps to prevent rainfall and fog from dampening the parade.

Eighteen aircraft equipped with rain dispersing devices have been deployed in the neighboring provinces of Hebei and Shanxi, said Cui Lianqing, deputy director with the weather bureau of the PLA air force headquarters.
