Three dead in N China cafeteria explosion

TIANJIN, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and six injured Saturday after a gas cylinder exploded in a cafeteria in north China's Tianjin Municipality, local officials said.

The blast happened at 9:58 a.m. at a staff cafeteria of a construction company of the China National Petrochemical Corp., the officials said.

The injured are receiving treatment at a local hospital and in stable conditions.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
