Six confirmed dead after bus rolls down ravine in S China

NANNING, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- A bus carrying 51 people collided with an SUV and rolled down a valley in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Monday, leaving at least six people dead and more than 30 others injured, police said.

The bodies of the six people have been recovered by rescuers. Among the injured, 16 were in serious conditions.

The accident happened at about 3 p.m. on the Shuinan Highway linking Shuiren in Hechi City and Nanning City, the regional capital, according to Hechi police.

The bus, after going off the road, rolled down the ravine.

The driver of the SUV, the only person in the vehicle, was found seriously injured.
