TONGHUA, Jilin, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Il concluded his visit to northeastern China and left for home Saturday afternoon.
Kim, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and chairman of the DPRK National Defense Commission, visited Tonghua city of Jilin Province on Saturday.
He praised the achievements made by China's northeastern region in adjusting industrial structure and transforming the economic growth mode.
Before his departure, he thanked again for China's hospitality.
Kim arrived in China Thursday after a Russian tour. During the visit, he also toured Heilongjiang Province.
