ASHGABAT, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao sent a special envoy -- a vice chairman of the national legislature -- attend the ceremony of Turkmen president's inauguration for a second term here on Friday.

Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov was sworn in as the Turkmen president at the inaugural ceremony held in the Turkmen capital city of Ashgabat for a second term in office after an overwhelming victory in the recent presidential election. He will remain in power until 2017.

Berdymukhamedov was elected for the first term in February 2007.

Zhou Tienong, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, arrived here on Thursday to particularly attend the inaugural ceremony.
