BEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- For more in China’s southwest, severe drought has lingered in Yunnan Province for three consecutive years, disrupting the lives of millions of residents.

According to the Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters in Yunnan Province, more than 250 middle-sized and small rivers are receding, and nearly 400 small reservoirs have dried up. The lingering drought has left about 3 million people and more than 1 million large livestock without sufficient drinking water.

So far, nearly 550-thousand hectares of crops have been affected.
