Chinese, African enterprises sign cooperative projects

BEIJING, July 19 (Xinhua) -- More than 20 Chinese and African enterprises signed eight economic cooperation projects with a total investment of 341 million U.S. dollars, according to a statement at the closing ceremony of the Fourth Conference of Chinese and African entrepreneurs on Thursday.

A declaration on corporate social responsibility was also announced at the closing ceremony, which was jointly signed by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the China-Africa Development Fund and China Development Bank.

The declaration aims at promoting cooperation between the two sides, boosting mutual communication and understanding, and strengthening scientific and technological cooperation between enterprises from both sides.

Moreover, the declaration appeals to the two sides to promote trade and investment facilitation, and pay more attention to people's lives in African countries.

The projects include cooperation among institutions, finance, aviation and agriculture, covering countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Cote d'Ivoire, and Ghana.

The Fourth Conference of Chinese and African entrepreneurs was held on Wednesday and Thursday, attracting officials, entrepreneurs and experts form China and more than 50 African countries.
