Divorce rate exceeds one third in Beijing and Shanghai

The divorce rate in China has been on a 7-year continuous rise, according to the Chinese Youth Development Report of the New Century(2000-2010), a blue paper about the development of Chinese youth.

Beijing and Shanghai have the highest divorce rate in the country. About one third couples in the maga cities end up with divorce.

The report also shows the tendency to be younger in first love, and further delay the first marriage. Quality marriage is at the cost of its stability.
