Overseas travelers from 45 countries will be able to enjoy a visa free on a stay of up to 72 hours while transiting through Beijing International Airport from next January 1, CCTV News reported on Wednesday.
Under the new policy, Beijing International Airport is expected to receive an estimate of 1.28 million international transit passengers, and nearly half of them will enter China, which will do more to boost tourism and create more jobs.
At present, only a few cities in China, including Shanghai, allow some overseas travelers to stay for 48 hours on visa free basis.
