A faint 1.3-magnitude tremor was felt this morning in Jinshan, the southernmost district of Shanghai, local seismologists reported.
The tremor was recorded around 1:38am and the epicenter was 30.9 degrees North Latitude and 121.1 degrees East Longitude with a depth of 8 kilometers, according to the Shanghai Earthquake Bureau.
Only a few people in Jinshan felt the tremor in the wee hours of this morning. A resident living in a fifth-floor apartment said he was wakened up by the small temblor.
Pet animals were more sensitive to the earth tremor. One woman said her two puppies ran around in her room this morning and woke her up. Later she learned that it was the earthquake that made them restless.
