A reported sex slave case in south China’s Shenzhen went viral on the internet on March 10, arousing the outrage of netizens over heinous crime against women.

“A female victim trussed with ropes was locked in a dog crate. In order to escape, she opened the crate with her teeth. After she went away from the basement, wearning nothing, she called the police on February 28 ,” said a message on Weibo, a twitter like service in China.

The man suspected of unlawful detention and rape was still at large, and was listed as wanted by local police.

According to preliminary investigation, the suspect, who came back from overseas studies, met the female victim via the internet.

The reporter also interviewed some residents living in the neighborhood.

“A woman in her 30s came out of the building almost nakedly in the afternoon on February 28. Her hands were chained and her mouth was bleeding,” a middle-aged woman recalled.

“When we saw her, we were shocked and thought she was insane. It was not until the police came that we knew something bad happened,” an old man said.

The victim was not the 1st sex slave

According to another online posting in June, 2012, another female was hijacked to the same basement where the tragedy happened.

The anonymous netizen said in the post one of his friends was kidnapped to a basement after she met her net friend. She saw some iron chains and ropes there.

After she was freed a few days later, she was too scared to call the police.
