A fire erupted in a chemical plant in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Saturday morning, sources with local authorities said.
Firefighters and personnel from the local public security and forestry departments have been dispatched to quell the blaze that broke out around 8:40 a.m. in the Dezheng Chemical Plant in Dengkou County.
According to firefighters, the fire broke out in a raw materials warehouse, which has already collapsed in the fire.
Smoke was billowing from the fire, and the air was filled with an unpleasant smell, the firefighters said.
No casualties have been reported so far, and the plant workers and nearby residents have been relocated to safety, sources said.
