A young woman, of Jiangsu Province, was nearly raped twice by two different men in her rented apartment without actually noticing the crimes because she had slept too tight.

The rare case took place in wee hours of August 29, the Changzhou City. Local media reported today that a court had ratified the arrest of the two suspects, who would be charged with rape.

The 19-year-old woman reportedly told police she liked sleeping naked. When she did so as usual that evening but failed to lock up the door by accident, the crimes took place.

The two suspects were roommates living next door to the woman’s rented apartment. But she didn’t know them.

The first suspect, surnamed Pu, 28, allegedly sneaked in after seeing the woman sleeping naked in bed through her half-open door.

Pu allegedly said he knocked at her door several times at first to check if she would be alerted by his moves. When she didn’t, he walked in and patted her on her back and tried speaking to her. But the woman had slept so heavily that she didn’t respond at all.

Pu then had sex with her. When Pu was dressing up, his roommate, surnamed Zou, came to knock at her door.

The frightened Pu left in a hurry, leaving Zou in the room with the still sleeping woman. When Zou also tried to rape her, the woman finally awakened and screamed.

Zou ran off and the woman figured out what could have happened and alarmed the police.

She reportedly recalled the lock could have accidentally flipped open that evening. She allegedly said she had slept too tight after having a tiring day. She said she nearly came to awareness for short seconds during the first rape but slept over quickly again assuring herself it was only a dream.

The case is still being investigated.
