Film about CPC's birth released in Ireland

DUBLIN, July 10 (Xinhua) -- A film about the founding story of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was released here on Friday night at Cineworld Dublin, the largest cinema in Ireland.

Titled 1921, the 137-minute-long film tells the story about the founding of the CPC in 1921.

Co-directed by Huang Jianxin and starring a number of famous Chinese actors and actresses, the film proved to be a great success in terms of box office after it was premiered in China on July 1, 2021 to mark the centenary of the CPC.

Distributed by Trinity Cine Asia, a British film distributor, the film mainly targets Chinese audience living in Ireland.

According to the website of the Chinese embassy in Ireland, some 50,000 Chinese are currently living, working or studying in Ireland.

The film will be on show at Cineworld Dublin for a week.

Ireland has reopened its cinemas to the public, but required social distancing and mask wearing inside the cinemas. Enditem
