Endangered wild yak seen at lakeside

A wild yak gallops at the lakeside of Hoh

Sai Lake in Hoh Xil(No man's land) which is situated south of the Kunlun

Mountains and north of the Tanggula Ranges, at the juncture of Northwest

China's Qinghai, Tibet, and Xinjiang.(The photo was taken on June 29,

2005) As an endangered species of animal, there are less than 15,000 wild

yaks left in the world, most of them live in the desolated areas of the

Qinghai-Tibet plateau of China.
