2008 Olympic mascots unveiled

A grand ceremony for unveiling a set of five mascots for the 2008 Olympic Games is held in Beijing, Nov. 11, 2005, exactly 1,000 days before the event's opening.

The long-anticipated mascots, namely Fish(L), Panda(2nd, L), Tibetan Antelope (2nd, R), Swallow (R)-- four of China's most popular animals -- and the Olympic Flame (C), were presented at the ceremony in the Workers' Gymnasium in Beijing.
