BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese senior official Jia Qinglin on Sunday visited two art exhibitions at the site of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Jia, chairman of the CPPCC and member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, visited a painting exhibition which marked the 110th anniversary of Liu Haisu, a late CPPCC official who was the founder of Chinese modern art education.

The exhibition collected 90 paintings of Huangshan Mountain drawn by Liu, his daughter Liu Chan and his student Feng Jianqin.

Another show was 120 photographs of CPPCC deputies on their visit to the Qinghai-Tibet Railway in August.

The Qinghai-Tibet Railway stretches 1,956 kilometers from Xining, capital of northwest China's Qinghai Province, to Lhasa. About 960 kilometers is located 4,000 meters above sea level and the highest point is 5,072 meters, at least 200 meters higher than the Peruvian railway in the Andes, formerly the world's highest track.
