SANYA, Hainan Province, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria arrived in Sanya, a scenic city in the southern island province of Hainan, on Friday, kicking off her state visit to China as guest of President Hu Jintao.
During her stay, the two leaders will exchange views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern.
Bachelet was also here for the annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), a platform for high-level interaction between leaders from Asia and the world.
With her arrival, all foreign leaders for this year's forum, due to open on Saturday afternoon in Boao, Hainan Province, had arrived.
Altogether 10 foreign state and government leaders were invited for the meeting, including Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse, Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Tongan King Taufa'ahau Tupou V, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasim Bin Jabir Al-thani, and Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
According to sources with the Chinese Foreign Ministry, President Hu will deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony.
This year's annual meeting is themed "Green Asia: Moving Towards Win-Win Through Changes".
