Monaco's Prince Albert arrives in Beijing for Olympics

BEIJING, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Monaco's Prince Albert arrived in Beijing on Sunday for the Beijing Olympic Games.

He was greeted by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Wu Hongbo when his private plane touched down at 3:55 p.m. at Beijing Capital International Airport.

Prince Albert, a member of the International Olympic Committee, expressed his strong desire to attend the Beijing Olympic Games during a state visit to China in April, saying, "It will be of far-reaching significance".

He will also see events at the Hong Kong equestrian venue and the Qingdao sailing venue during his stay, according to China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
