A heavy snowfall hit north China's Tianjin Saturday night, Dec 21, 2008. A cold front from the Baikal Lake swept southward and brought strong winds and a temperature slump to most parts of the country over the last two days.

Temperature in parts of northwest and northeast China as well as most regions along the Yangtze and Yellow rivers fell by 8 to 12 Celsius degrees.
