Chinese escort ships rush to rescue hijacked bulk carrier

The Chinese bulk carrier Dexinhai was hijacked by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean Monday. There are 25 Chinese seamen aboard the ship, and all of them are safe so far, according to a spokesperson of the EU naval force. The ship was hijacked 1080 nautical miles southeast of Chinese naval escort ships' Junction A. It was 550 nautical miles northeast of the Seychelles, and 700 nautical miles off the east coast of Somalia.

The Chinese escort ships are now trying to rescue the Dexinhai, said a well-informed naval source.
