Fire at Shanghai oil refinery; no casualties reported

SHANGHAI, May 9 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out at a Shanghai oil refinery Sunday but no casualties have been reported, the Shanghai Fire Department said.

At around 11:30 a.m the fire department received a report an oil tank at the refinery had exploded.

Fire fighters rushed to the scene and by 1:00 p.m. the fire had been extinguished.

The oil refinery is located at North Pudong Road in Pudong New District.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
