SHANGHAI, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- At least eight people were killed and more than 90 injured Monday afternoon after a high-rise apartment building caught fire in Shanghai, local authorities said at a press conference.
The 30-storey building at the intersection of Jiaozhou Road and Yuyao Road in Jing'an District was being renovated when it caught fire at about 2:00 p.m..
Witnesses said scaffolding initially caught fire, with the blaze then quickly spreading to the building.
