BEIJING, March 24 (Xinhua) -- A work shed in downtown Beijing was on fire Thursday afternoon, with high-rising heavy smoke.

The fire broke out on the third floor of a three-storey work shed, north of a school in Hujialou near the city's central business district, according to the city's fire department.

Fire fighters are still fighting against the fire. Casualties remained unknown.
