Hu calls for global efforts to tackle economic woes

CANNES, France, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao said here Wednesday that all members of the international community should work together to cope with worldwide economic difficulties.

He made the remarks while meeting with Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, ahead of a summit of the Group of Twenty (G-20) slated for Thursday and Friday in Cannes.
