BERLIN, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Visiting China's top political advisor Jia Qinglin visited the Chinese culture center here on Thursday, praising its devotion to the strengthening of mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries.
Jia watched performances of Taiji, a traditional Chinese martial arts, by several German students and talked with a group of German readers and sinologists in the center's library of Chinese books.
Jia, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, spoke highly of the Germans for their role in introducing and spreading the Chinese culture, thereby boosting mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
Jia also encouraged the Chinese embassy and the culture center to promote culture exchanges between China and Germany, carry out culture diplomacy so as to introduce the Chinese culture to the world.
Jia arrived in Germany on Sunday for a 6-day visit. Germany is the last stop of Jia's three-nation European tour, which has already taken him to Greece and the Netherlands.
