By Feb. 2, 2012, the temperature in most places of Hulun Buir stayed below minus 40 degrees centigrade consecutively for 9 days.
More than 500 cattle and sheep were killed by the coldness. China's Central Meteorological Station on Sunday issued a cold wave warning for areas of north and east China in the following days. In some areas, the temperature may drop by 10 to 14 degrees centigrade.
