Chinese envoy on African affairs holds talks with Sudanese officials

KHARTOUM, May 13 (Xinhua) -- China's special representative on African affairs Zhong Jianhua on Sunday held talks with senior Sudanese officials in Khartoum on bilateral ties and regional situation.

According to a statement by the Chinese embassy in Khartoum, Zhong talked with Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Ali Karti, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Salah Wanasy, and State Minister at the Presidency and head of Sudanese government delegation to the negotiations with South Sudan Iddris Abdul- Ghader.

During the talks, the two sides exchanged view points on bilateral relations, situation between Sudan and South Sudan, and the fifth ministerial meeting of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum, said the statement.

Chinese Ambassador in Khartoum Luo Xiaoguang attended the talks, the statement noted.

The Chinese envoy and the accompanying delegation arrived in Khartoum on Saturday for a visit to Sudan.
