A group of Vietnamese soldiers and nationals have reportedly laid out a design of the national flag of Vietnam with ceramic tiles in Nanwei Island in the South China Sea, according to media reports yesterday.

In response, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said at Tuesday's regular press briefing that China has indisputable sovereignty over Nansha Islands and the adjacent waters. Vietnamese' behavior is in violation of China's sovereignty and therefore illegal and invalid. China urges Vietnam to contribute to regional peace and stability with concrete actions.
