Sir Run Run Shaw, (born in 1907), is co-founder (with his brothers) of the Shaw Brothers Studios, and of TVB.
Shaw is the primary shareholder in TVB entertainment, and still a vital, very active part of the life of Hong Kong, Singapore, mainland, and other Chinese-speaking communities, with one of the greatest of all entertainment legacies to his name.
The Shaw Prize, one of his many philanthropic endeavors, called the "Nobel of Asia," is the most important and prestigious of all science and medicine awards on the Asian continent.
Over the years, he has donated billions of dollars to charity, schools and hospitals. His name is on many buildings in Hong Kong due to his generous donations.
