Zhang Chunxian, the Party chief of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, called on all the soldiers and police officers to safeguard social stability and keep vigilant against terrorist forces during an inspection tour Wednesday to the anti-terrorism special force garrisoned in Urumqi, capital city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Zhang made a speech after watching the counter-terrorism exercises staged by the anti-terrorism force. He highly regarded the achievements they have made in maintaining national unity and social stability in Xinjiang, and praised their efforts to safeguard the safety of people’s life and property.
Zhang said: "Xinjiang's overall situation remains stable but faces 'severe challenges'." He put forward four requirements to soldiers and police officers in Xinjiang: Remain faithful to the Party, serve the people, build up capability and keep vigilant.
