Fire broke out in a chemical factory at around 1 pm Monday in E China’s Tianjin city, according to information and pictures posted on Sina Weibo.
The factory, Tianjin Talent Chemistry Co., Ltd. which is located in the Beichen Hi-tech Industrial Park, has six tank trucks inside. Witnesses say a series of blasts sent a column of smoke into the sky, acrid smell filling the air. Firemen were also seen at the scene fighting flames.
Employees of the firm were evacuated immediately. Local officials said later that the fire was caused by chemicals materials in the factory and no one was killed or injured in the accident.
