Carrier-based fighters, including two J-15s, were photographed practicing “touch-and-go” landing on China’s first aircraft carrier "Liaoning".

The "touch and go landing" is a maneuver that involves landing on a runway and taking off again without coming to a full stop. The move is used to train pilots to deal with emergency situations while in flight and improve their ability to land safely on the carrier deck, which is a must to pilots based on a carrier.

According to military experts, an aircraft carrier has a number of complex systems that require both team work and individual piloting skills in order to achieve a complete success. The "Liaoning" will continue to undergo further trainings.
