Bodies of 4 children, one boy and three girls, of a family of villagers in Huizhou, S China’s Guangdong Province were found in a pond near their home early yesterday.

The four siblings surnamed Zou, all under 10 years old, were drowned accidentally in the pond when they were playing around outside on weekend, an official source said on Mar 14.

Profoundly sorrowful, their family members refused to remove the children’s corpses from the bank of the pond and insisted on talking with the pond owner.

Even the water at the brink of the pond is over four meters deep, while the fences around it are “no obstacle even to chickens and ducks”, said some one of the crushed family.
