BEIJING, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- War film "The Sacrifice" continued to lead the Chinese mainland's daily box office chart on Tuesday, generating about 7.94 million yuan (1.21 million U.S. dollars).

That brought the film's total box office revenue since its Oct. 23 release to over 1 billion yuan, figures compiled by the China Movie Data Information Network showed.

Set during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953), the film was co-directed by Guan Hu, also the director of this year's blockbuster war epic "The Eight Hundred."

"My People, My Homeland" ranked second, grossing about 3.08 million yuan on Tuesday. The comedy depicting China's achievements in the fight against poverty saw its total box office revenue reach 2.79 billion yuan since its Oct. 1 debut.

Coming in third was American superhero film "Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen," pocketing about 3.02 million yuan on the ninth day of its screening.
