HONG KONG, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported 55 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, taking its total tally to 9,557.
The new cases included 51 local infections, of which 16 had an unknown origin, according to a CHP press briefing. There were also more than 80 cases tested positive preliminarily.
According to Hong Kong's Hospital Authority, 552 COVID-19 patients are currently being treated in public hospitals and the community treatment facility at AsiaWorld-Expo, and 42 patients are in critical condition. Enditem
