HONG KONG, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) said on Thursday that the Chinese Lunar New Year promotions will be held in an "online + offline" format due to the continuing COVID-19 epidemic.

The HKTB said that in order to boost local retail and catering industry, the three-week "Fortunes at Home" campaign will be held on Feb. 8-26 over the Spring Festival, the Valentine's Day and the Lantern Festival, featuring a creative Online Mart.

The Online Mart launched by the HKTB and Hong Kong catering industry will offer over 100 products and delicacies, including a collection of collaboration between traditional local brands and trend-setting brands, specialized cuisine for Chinese Lunar New Year and food with festive elements.

Besides, residents can also play online games to win discount coupons for the Online Mart and festive gifts prepared by the HKTB.

As for offline activities, the HKTB works with local hotels, attractions, catering and retail businesses to offer various offline promotions, including hotel staycation packages, shopping mall privileges and time-limited discounts offered by various merchants.

The HKTB earlier decided to cancel the night parade which was supposed to be held on the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year due to the epidemic.
