4 missing after offshore platform accident in south China

GUANGZHOU, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Four people fell into the sea and went missing after an offshore construction platform tilted off the coast of Huizhou City, south China's Guangdong Province, at Sunday noon, local authorities said.

A total of 67 people were on the platform when the accident happened. Besides the four missing persons, the other 63 have been rescued, according to the Guangdong provincial maritime search and rescue center.

Search and rescue efforts, which involve helicopters and vessels, are still underway.

The platform has been stabilized, the center said. Enditem
