China's Yunnan reports 1 locally transmitted COVID-19 case

KUNMING, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Yunnan Province reported one locally transmitted COVID-19 confirmed case on Saturday, the provincial health commission said Sunday.

The confirmed case was found during the nucleic acid testing in Ruili, it said.

The province also reported six new imported confirmed cases on Saturday, five of whom had records of living in Myanmar, before entering Yunnan through land checkpoints between June 30 and July 23. They tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday while under quarantine. Another person was an asymptomatic carrier reported on July 22, who was imported from Laos. The patient developed clinical symptoms on Saturday and was diagnosed as a confirmed case.

All the cases have been sent to designated hospitals for treatment.

By the end of Saturday, there were 297 confirmed COVID-19 cases still hospitalized in Yunnan, including 74 locally transmitted cases and 223 imported ones. There were also 27 asymptomatic cases, among whom 25 were imported. Enditem
