Virtual tour to China's GBA highlights win-win opportunities

HONG KONG, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- A special event on business opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) was held in Hong Kong and Shenzhen concurrently on Friday, taking representatives of foreign business chambers and firms to a virtual tour of the vibrant region.

Jointly held by the Commissioner's Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the HKSAR government, and the Guangdong provincial government, the event was themed "A New Journey with Greater Opportunities."

Liu Guangyuan, commissioner of the Chinese foreign ministry in the HKSAR, said the event could let foreign business communities in Hong Kong see China's firm determination in expanding opening up, the opportunities in China's building of a new development pattern, and Hong Kong's advantages in seizing opportunities in China's rapid development.

Carrie Lam, chief executive of the HKSAR, said the GBA region not only leads the country in terms of its level of economic development, but also enjoys strong complementarity particularly with Hong Kong, such as in the area of innovation and technology.

Cong Liang, deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission, said more efforts will be made to help Hong Kong to enhance its competitive edge and provide a more favorable development environment for foreign-funded enterprises and other types of market entities. Enditem
