Ancient village day hike

This day-trip takes you out to Zhenbian Village nestled in the mountains of Hebei Province. Once upon a time it was a Great Wall fortress town, now it is a quaint collection of architecture dating back to the Ming period. One of the highlights is the Guandi Temple where you can still see ancient wall paintings. RMB300, November 8.

There are two ancient scholar trees in town, and most buildings are of Ming and Qing style. The city wall was built with large stones.
