LGBT Beijingers are clearing out their schedules to spend a weekend or two at Shanghai Pride happening October 16 to Nov 11.
Organizers say that the biggest party will be the closing party on Nov 6th.
Much like at last year’s daytime celebration that was at Cotton Club, Nov 6th’s Family Day BBQ and festivities will start at noon with a big after party celebration. Venue names will be kept hush until close to the event, but word is that they will be fabulously bigger and better than last year!
Also confirmed are Oct 29th’s Shanghai’s Got Talent and Oct 30th’s Halloween Pub Crawl.
In addition to parties, this year will see some interesting film screenings. Rest assured, Fan Popo of China Queer Independent Films, also one of the masterminds behind our very own Beijing Queer Film Festival, will be going down to take care of Shanghai Pride’s film festival personally.
Watch the Shanghai Pride calander for more events to be confirmed. Beijing Gay Pride's DJ M (from Bangkok Pride) may also be making a special appearance.
End of October (Oct 30) will be witnessing another real life Gay Pride Parade in Taipei.
Pride Taipei will be kicked off by a all out Halloween lesbian party on Oct 29 presented by Lezmeeting’s Girls World.
If venturing to that special gay island that weekend, remember to bring both your scary and rainbow gear!
